normally i encode with x264, but xvid andlagarithare sometimes needed as well. i have googled about, but i have come to no clear answer. can anyone point me in the right direction? (and yes, i have read stickies in this forum as well)...

i just installed vegas 8.1 x64 and took a short 40 sec mts clip from my hf100 and rendered it as avi using thelagarithcodec. turning a 63mb file into a 1.4gb file. used the max res settings and best rendering options....

but the finished encoded avi file will look fine (if it islagarithonly). dv avi files made in a1 dvd ripper will"look"squished (fullscreen when they should be widescreen). you will have to manually adjust the settings or project...

from thelagarithchanges page:. version 1.3.16 released on 6-21-2008. fixed a bug that would occasionally corrupt frames in tmpgenc (and possibly other programs as well). thanks to aleksey gankov for reporting this....
